An important but not widely known RIGHT of American Juries

Mortgage Woes
 4/30/2008
Just the tip of the iceberg?

Pay option ARMS were written well into 2007. Though not as popular in Central PA as in some other areas, these mortgages have the very real potential to continue to create problems for the banking and real estate industry for the next twelve months.
With the Fedetal Reserve indicating that it is ending it's efforts to push down short-term interest rates, look for sharp increase in the money supply to continue to ignite inflationary fears. If the FED really steps aside, interest rates will rise and we predict many Pay Option ARM holders will be forced into foreclosure as their monthly payments exploded due to interest accumulation.

The folowing is an explanation provided by a Lancaster mortgage industry executive:

"The payment options (for Pay Option ARM's)  included a fully amortized payment, an interest only payment, or a payment based on a pay rate of 1-2% with negative amortization.  So if the actual rate was 7% based on an index of 4% and a margin of 3% and the customer wanted to pay 2% then the other 5% was added to the balance. They allowed up to a 20% increase in the balance.  People were told they could make the minimum payment based on the 1-2% rate for 5 years. However, the margins were often set so high that the interest accumulation forced the payment to increase very quickly and the actual rate was 9,10,11%.  A large percentage of these people could have easily qualifed for a 6% fixed rate at the time they chose the Pay Option ARM's."

DACTYLSCOPY
Loops, Ridges and Whorls - Oh Henry!

On the skin of our fingers, palms, toes and soles are unique lines called friction ridges. An impression of this unique pattern can be transferred onto certain materials when touched. Residue from the skin is deposited on the receiving material. The science of analyzing  and identifying prints is dactylscopy.

Prints can be patent (visible to the naked eye) or latent (invisible to the nake d eye and typically requiring processing to locate). Various techniques exist to "lift" the print from the surface so that it can be analzyed in the laboratory. Yes, the Super Glue method used in Beverly Hills Cop does work!

The Henry system is the most commonly identification method in the United States. The three major classification groups into which fingerpirnts are classified are: Loops, Ridges and Whorls.

When Friends Let A Friend Drive Drunk
The real tragedy of the Sarah Timblin "wrong-way" driver incident
March 22, 2008

Last Tuesday morning, March 11, 2008, Sarah Timblin entered the east bound lanes of Route 30 driving west. She ran head on into the company vehicle in which Inocente Sanchez, his brother Luis and co-worker Marlin Banks were using to travel to a janitorial job in Lancaster.  Banks, seated in the rear, and the Sanchez brothers in front,  died at the scene. Timblin was transported to the hospital, treated and released several hours later.

Message boards lit up with questions about where Timblin consumed the alcohol that caused her blood alcohol reading to be .26, or 260 mg/dL, more than three times the legal limit. What is known at this point is that Timblin ended her evening at The Birckyard Sports Bar . Brickyard employees were concerned enough about TImblin to make certain that she was not driving herself when she left the bar. Friends who were with Timblin assured bar  employees that they would drive her.

Timblin left the bar with these friends did indeed "drive her" as promised. But they did not drive her home. Instead, they took her back to the parking lot of her then employer, Iron Hill Brewery, where her car was parked, and dropped her off. The rest of this tragic story unfolded a short time later.

Stay tuned for updates about this story.
